WorkBuddy can direct a video edit when you connect it to ChatCut. Describe the result in WorkBuddy; ChatCut applies the changes to a real project that you can review and adjust yourself.

Start with footage you already have: a talking-head recording, a product screen recording, or an interview. Get the story right first, then add captions, graphics, and other finishing layers.

## Connect WorkBuddy before your first edit

Open a WorkBuddy conversation and ask it to follow the current installation guide:

```text
Read https://chatcut.io/workbuddy and install and verify the ChatCut connection for me. Let me complete account authorization in the browser, then tell me when the tools are ready.
```

WorkBuddy has its own setup path. Follow its guide rather than the Codex or Claude Code installation prompt. After configuration, restart WorkBuddy or start a new session as directed, and verify that ChatCut tools appear before requesting an edit.

The hosted plugin connection is distinct from controlling a project in the native ChatCut Desktop app. See the [Agent Plugin documentation](https://pr-500-preview.chatcut.dev/docs/agent-plugin) for the connection and supported editing tools.

## Make a talking-head video for your next post

Once connected, upload your recording through **My Assets** in ChatCut, or ask WorkBuddy to import your source file into the project. Explain the audience, target length, and statements that must stay.

```text
Use ChatCut to create a project for my talking-head recording. Ask me for the footage and intended audience. Transcribe it, remove repeated takes and long pauses, and make a vertical draft around 60 seconds. Preserve the meaning of what I say. Show me the rough cut before adding captions or music.
```

Play the draft and check that every cut preserves the speaker’s meaning. Then ask for [captions](https://pr-500-preview.chatcut.dev/features/ai-captions), check names and specialized terms, and adjust the framing for the intended platform.

## Turn a screen recording into a product demo

Bring a screen recording, logo, and the product message you want viewers to remember. Give the agent actual product footage so the demo shows the real interface.

```text
Use ChatCut to turn my screen recording into a short product demo. Ask me for the footage, logo, audience, and key message. Build a rough cut showing the main workflow. After I review it, add readable captions and motion graphic callouts where they clarify a step. Keep every layer editable.
```

Use [motion graphics](https://pr-500-preview.chatcut.dev/features/ai-motion-graphics) for an explanation or callout that helps viewers follow the workflow. Check that labels and product claims match what the footage actually shows.

## Review the timeline and export

Open the ChatCut project, play it from start to finish, and check the cuts, captions, framing, and audio. Ask WorkBuddy for a specific revision or adjust the timeline directly. Then choose the output you need in the [export panel](https://pr-500-preview.chatcut.dev/docs/exporting).

Generated media and other metered features may use credits. Review the requested operations before running them; installation does not make every editing or generation operation free.
